D-2 International Student Part-Time Work Permit — School Recommendation and the Procedure for the Permit for Activities Outside the Status of Stay
Employment is prohibited in principle for D-2 international students; part-time work is a system that allows it as an exception. After deciding on the workplace, the student must obtain a recommendation from the school department in charge of international exchange and then a permit for activities outside the status of stay from the immigration office before starting work. If the student works before the permit, both the student and the employer are subject to punishment.
Procedure
1. Decide the workplace and working conditions
First decide the workplace, the job duties, the working days and hours, and the hourly wage. If the business type is not a permitted one or the conditions exceed the permitted hours, the recommendation and the permit will not be issued, so rule out such jobs at this stage.
2. Apply for the school recommendation
Apply to the school department in charge of international exchange for a part-time work recommendation. Whether a recommendation is given and the permitted hours are decided on the basis of the previous semester's grades and attendance rate and Korean language ability (TOPIK, etc.).
3. Apply for the permit for activities outside the status of stay
With the recommendation, the employment contract and other documents, apply through the Hi Korea e-application service or at the competent immigration office. You can work from the day the permit is issued.
4. Manage work within the permitted scope
You must work only at the permitted workplace and within the permitted hours. If you change or add a workplace, the recommendation and the permit must be obtained again, and because the permitted hours differ between vacation and the semester, the employer also manages the work schedule together with the student.
Required documents

Fees
