How to Report a Publishing Company — Reported Matters, Report Certificate and the 20-Day Report of Change
To run a publishing company, you report in advance the company's name and location and the operator's (for a corporation, the representative's) name and address to the mayor, county head or district head having jurisdiction over the company's location. Once reported, a report certificate is issued, and if a reported matter changes, a report of change is filed within 20 days from the date of the change. One-person publishers go through the same procedure.
Procedure
1. Decide the publisher's name and location
The reported matters are the publishing company's name and location and the operator's name and address. Corporations and organizations enter the representative's name and address. The location determines which city, county or district to report to.
2. Submit the publishing company report
Submit the publishing company report to the mayor, county head or district head of the company's location. It can also be filed through an information and communications network, so it can be submitted online via Government24. The report must be made before starting the business.
3. Receive the report certificate
Once the report is processed, a publishing company report certificate is issued. The city, county or district reports the matters to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism through the city or province. If the certificate is lost or damaged, submit a reissuance application to receive it again.
4. Link with business registration
If you proceed with business registration after receiving the report certificate, you can enter the business type and trade name to match the certificate. If the publisher's name differs from the trade name in the business registration, later change procedures increase.
5. Report of change and closure report
If the publisher's name or location or the operator changes, file a report of change with the report certificate attached within 20 days from the date of the change. A change in only the operator's address is not subject to a report of change. When closing, submit a closure report with the report certificate attached, and the value-added tax closure report can be filed together.
