Environmental Consulting Company Registration Requirements — 1 Senior and 2 General Personnel, Registration Procedure with the Metropolitan City or Province (Si/Do)

Procedure

1. 1. Check the scope of work you intend to do

   Work subject to registration includes surveys of and consultation on environmental regulations, consultation on environmental permit procedures, diagnosis of environmental regulations related to siting and operation, pollution prevention diagnosis and education, and diagnosis for commercialization of environmental technology. To do pollution prevention diagnosis and education or diagnosis for commercialization of environmental technology, the senior personnel must include 1 professional engineer in the environmental field.

2. 2. Secure senior and general personnel

   Senior personnel must be at least 1 person from among professional engineers and master craftsmen, holders of a doctorate in the environmental field, engineers in the environmental field with 4 or more years of experience, and the like. General personnel must be at least 2 persons from among engineers in the environmental field, holders of a master's degree in the environmental field, industrial engineers with 3 or more years of experience, and the like. Experience is counted both before and after the qualification was obtained.

3. 3. Check the business purposes in the articles of incorporation and disqualification of executive officers

   Check that environmental consulting work is included in the business purposes in the corporation's articles of incorporation. Registration is not possible if the executive officers include a minor or an adult under guardianship, a bankrupt person who has not been reinstated, a person sentenced to imprisonment without suspension for violating this Act or the air, water environment, noise and vibration or soil laws for whom 3 years have not passed since the sentence was completed or remitted, or a person who was an officer, at the time of cancellation, of a company whose registration was cancelled less than 2 years ago.

4. 4. Apply for registration with the metropolitan city or province

   Attach proof of the technical personnel's qualifications and experience and the corporate documents to the registration application and submit it to the metropolitan city or province (si/do) where the office is located. If there is no problem with the scope of work, the grounds for disqualification and the personnel requirements, the metropolitan city or province must grant the registration.

5. 5. Maintenance after registration

   You must begin work within 1 year from the registration date, and the registration may be revoked if there is no work record for 1 year or more continuously. If technical personnel change, register the change within 60 days.

Fees

Agency fees for the registration application are generally priced in the industry from several hundred thousand won to about 1,000,000 won and vary with the amount of work needed to put the business purposes in the articles of incorporation in order and to organize personnel career records.
