To run an electrical construction business, you register with the mayor or governor of the city or province having jurisdiction over the principal business office, and the application is submitted to the designated construction business association. The registration criteria are 3 or more electrical construction engineers (at least 1 being a professional engineer, master craftsman, engineer or industrial engineer), capital of 150,000,000 won or more and an office, and a guarantee capacity confirmation stating that an amount equal to or above the capital standard can be guaranteed is submitted together. Before 5 years have passed since registration, the registration criteria are reported when 3 years have passed.

Capital must be 150,000,000 won or more, and for a corporation both paid-in capital and actual capital must each meet the standard. An office for running the business is also required.

  2. 2. Obtain a guarantee capacity confirmation

Provide collateral of 25% or more of the capital standard amount, or make a cash deposit or contribution, to the Electrical Contractors Financial Cooperative or a designated financial institution, and obtain a confirmation that an amount equal to or above the capital standard can be guaranteed.
