Senior-Friendly Company Designation Requirements and Application Documents — Senior Citizens as 5% of Workers and the Matching Investment Plan
Designation as a senior-friendly company or institution is a system under which the Minister of Health and Welfare designates companies and institutions that employ senior citizens at or above a certain standard, under the Act on Support for Jobs and Social Activities for Senior Citizens. For an existing company, the standard is 5 or more regular workers as of the end of the previous year and employment of senior citizens amounting to at least 5/100 of its workers and at least 5 persons, and it must have a plan to employ 5 or more senior citizens every year for 5 years from the year after designation. A person who intends to newly establish a company that hires senior citizens applies separately for start-up support for companies hiring senior citizens.
Procedure
1. Decide the type of application
Distinguish whether a company already in operation is increasing its employment of senior citizens, or a company that hires senior citizens is being newly started. An existing company is eligible for designation as a senior-friendly company or institution, and a start-up is eligible for start-up support for companies hiring senior citizens.
2. Check the figures as of the end of the previous year
A senior-friendly company is judged by the number of regular workers and the number of senior citizens employed as of the end of the previous year. These figures cannot be changed after the public call opens, so check the employment status in the second half of the previous year.
3. Prepare the business plan and the matching investment implementation plan
Prepare a business plan that sets out the plan for creating jobs for senior citizens and improving the working environment, and an implementation plan for the investment that matches the financial support. The plan to employ 5 or more senior citizens every year for 5 years from the year after designation must be consistent in its figures.
4. Apply during the public call period
Attach the plans, the articles of incorporation and the necessary documents to the designation application form and submit them within the period and by the method stated in the public notice. Business registration, financial statements, tax payment, full payment of social insurance contributions and employment information are checked through administrative information sharing; if you do not consent, submit them yourself.
5. Maintain employment after designation
Once designated, you receive a designation certificate and may use the designation mark. You may receive environment improvement costs, growth support, sales channel support and the like, and you maintain the planned number of employed persons every year.
